Tilt-a-Whirl

Posted on Feb 24th, 2007 by Seeker : Pilgrim Poet Seeker
Whirled by ever stronger currents
information tidal wave
crashing over one person
who sees a path that glimpses
every third whirlaround

No status
consumed by familial consumption
gentle voice overrun
often enough
by the blare of various televisions

Absorbing my future
filling my lungs with truth
seeking to expunge the smoke
once my protective screen
now another weight against becoming

Courage

I've just been looking through the zQuotes area.  I looked up the word that is the title of this entry.

I have two people in my life who are confusing to me just now.  I love each of them in very different ways.

At present, there are things about each of them that I find myself disburbed by.  The only way I can think of to deal with this is through prayer and meditation.

They both need sleep.  They both need a lot of rest.  Both are very sad, in different forms and for different reasons.

Prayers are all I can offer.  Then I need to meditate to release whatever disturbance their current circumstances and choices are creating in me.  Only I can do that; they can't.  They cannot alter their ways of being on my behalf.  They can only do that if and when they are ready to do that for themselves.

I need to let go, completely and without reservation, of the results of my prayers and the actions or lack thereof each of these people chooses to take.

Just telling on myself so I can move forward with courage in the right direction.

Peace to you.

A word, a force

Posted on Jul 17th, 2006 by Seeker : Pilgrim Poet Seeker

Love.

I am often absolutely amazed at the negative emotions people manage to connect to love.  All those things are not-love.  People need to make that distinction clear, and uphold love as what it is.

Oh sure ... I'm such an expert, right?  So, what is love?

Well, love is positive energy.  It is expressed in friendship, respect, care, responsibility, knowledge and curiosity about each other and our world; compassion, sympathy, empathy, acceptance, intimacy, patience, forgiveness, generosity; light, air, food, water, beauty, joy, holidays, companionship, thoughtfulness.

Bad feelings are caused by things other than love.  If something a person defines as love hurts or saddens her or him, it is time to review the definition of love she/he is living by.

These are just my musings on a very hot day in a rather grungy city as I move through my journey.

Be well.  Be happy.  Love.

A beautiful cause

Read this wonderful young woman's story.  Join in the love and energy of her family and many friends to see her through.

Any gifts not used toward Savanah's treatment will be "paid forward" to another family in the same sort of situation.   This is as worthwhile as it gets!

Be well, be blessed.

Hope

Posted on Apr 5th, 2006 by Seeker : Pilgrim Poet Seeker
It can be so tender sometimes.  I want it to breathe and be fully alive and active in our world.

What is the best way to communicate hope?  I am not sure.  It can be represented in art; it can be given in myriad ways ... a smile, a meal, a surrender of will, a birth, a rebirth.

I love words.  I write about various moods and modes, thoughts and emotions.  I think that in my space here I would like to communicate hope, to all who stop in here.  Build a space where people can come when they need a reminder, a refill, of hope.

Making the world a better place takes a lot of hard work.  So I think I'd like to make a sort of retreat of hope where people might find some small respite and scoop up hope like water in a ladle to restore themselves between their efforts.

Well now ... I seem to have come up with a purpose.  Now I shall need to see how I follow through with it.  Let me know as I go, please.

Welcome.
